Hello World! Welcome back fellow FLL competitors, this is the second part for the “How to obtain points” article.
There are 8 other missions, listed below.
Missions:
08: Rolling Camera
In this mission, you have to push a movie camera to shoot a scene. However, putting different power amounts on pushing the “button” will affect your score:
If the camera is in between the dark blue and medium blue square, 10 points are granted; If the camera is in between the medium blue and light blue squares, 20 points are granted; If the camera is on the left of the light blue square, (in the case that the orange switch is lifted) 30 points are granted.
09: Movie Set
In this mission, it is required to pull the boat. If the boat is past the thin black scene line, and completely touching the mat, 10 points are rewarded. And if the camera is touching the mat on the camera target area, 10 bonus points are awarded.
10: Sound Mixer
During this mission, there are three sound sliders your robot should raise. For every slider that is raised, 10 points are awarded, meaning you can get 30 points from this mission.
11: Light Show
In this mission the orange stick should be raised. If the stick is raised into the orange zone, 10 points are awarded, the blue zone, 30 points, and the green zone, 20 points.
12: Virtual Reality Artist
In this mission, your robot needs to push the orange lever, and if the chicken is intact and has moved, 10 points will be granted. A bonus of 20 points is awarded if the chicken is partly or completely over the lavender dot.
13: Craft Creator
In this mission, you should raise the orange and white lid, to be awarded 10 points. However, you can earn 20 points instead if you push the orange button and the pink block on the end is pointing down.
14: Audience Delivery
This mission consists of 7 audience members that need to be delivered to their destinations. For each audience member completely in a target destination, 5 points will be awarded. And for each destination with an audience member completely in it, 5 points will be given.
15: Expert Delivery
This mission consists of 5 different experts. For every expert in their correct target destination, 10 points are awarded.
Bonuses?
Size bonus:
At the beginning of the match, if your robot and all attachments are small enough to fit inside one of the launch areas under the height of 12 inches, or 30.5 centimetres, 20 bonus points are awarded.
Precision Tokens Bonus:
You can only interact with your robot if it is inside one of the home areas (see diagram.) You also start with six precision tokens, and you lose one every time you interact with your robot outside a home area. Based on how many precision tokens you have at the end of the match, you will win a specific amount of bonus points:
- 6 tokens = 50 points
- 5 tokens = 50 points
- 4 tokens = 35 points
- 3 tokens = 25 points
- 2 tokens = 15 points
- 1 token = 10 points
It is therefore okay to interfere with your robot one time, in an emergency.
Summary:
There are fifteen missions to complete on the match field, and two bonus points rules. You will also be judged by your gracious professionalism. Do remember that you do not have to complete all the missions, and don’t be stressed if you don’t get a good score. If you would like some help or don’t understand something, there are other blogs that can help you with YOUR FLL journey. Good Luck with your robot game! ???
